A consultant urologist specialising in cystitis, urinary and biofilm infection, overactive bladder, incontinence, pelvic floor weakness and urinary symptoms due to bladder problems

Professional Profile

 

Mr (Dr) Ased Ali is a Consultant Urologist and co-founder of The London UTI Clinic.

He also has a chronic UTI clinic at Yorkshire Urology in Leeds.

 

He specialises in the treatment of cystitis, urinary and biofilm infection, incontinence, pelvic floor weakness and urinary symptoms due to bladder problems or neurological conditions.

 

He qualified from The University of Manchester, with subsequent  Higher Urological training in Yorkshire and Northeast of England. He undertook part of his sub-specialty training in Female Urology and Urogynaecology at Duke University, North Carolina, USA as well as The Centre for Pelvic Floor at The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He completed a fellowship in Female Urology and Reconstructive Surgery at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne.

 

Mr Ali trained as both a urological surgeon and as a scientist gaining a doctorate (PhD) in Immunology for his thesis on recurrent UTI. He has received research funding awards from multiple bodies including the Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Wellbeing of Women.

 

Mr Ali is part of the Medical Advisory Panel for Bladder Health UK (the largest UK charity for bladder problems), a trusted expert for Netmums, and serves as President of the Yorkshire and Humberside Urostomy Association. He is also a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng), member of the European Association of Urology (EAU), American Urological Association (AUA) and British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) where he is an elected member of the executive committee of the Section of Female, Neurological and Urodynamic Urology.

Mr Ali is registered with most insurers including BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva, Exeter, Vitality and WPA; however, insurers may not cover all aspects of care at our central London location.
